Extraction System – Schuko ARS

The Schuko ARS Extraction System won the Environmental Technology Award 2019 Category III: technologies for emission reduction, processing, and separation.

The ARS extraction system specially developed for 5-axis machining for applications in metal/fibre composite plastic machining and wood machining. This air return system makes a considerable contribution to reducing energy consumption by 40% and a significant reduction of fine dust by 95%. The extraction system offers a unique suction solution by blowing and suctioning off a large part of the extracted air to the machine cell as process air after coarse filtering. This air is blown in a targeted manner via the cutting point towards the suction opening via adjustable air nozzles. The blowing airflow has a 30 times higher range than suction flows. Air sucked out and blown back into the cell (approx. 20 %) is filtered and released into the environment creating a slight negative pressure in the machine cell, preventing the dust-laden air from escaping. The air halts immediately before the end of machining. Fine filtering of complete air in the cell makes the ambient air in the machine cell dust-free when opened. Thus, increasing productivity by eliminating the need for manual cleaning of components.
