The Sedgwick 571 Hollow Chisel Morticer is built for durability, featuring a cast iron base, column, table, and slideways. This rigid mainframe supports the cast iron chisel head and motor. A counterbalanced head ensures smooth, precise rise and fall control, avoiding the issues common with spring mechanisms.
Powerful Performance
Equipped with a 1.1kW industrial fan-cooled motor, the morticer delivers reliable power for continuous use. A fully guarded ½” capacity adjustable chuck ensures firm and precise auger alignment, enhancing tool life and cutting performance compared to collet systems.
Precision and Versatility
The table offers both longitudinal and lateral movement controlled by a single handwheel for precise positioning. Features include:
- Adjustable timber clamp: Accommodates timber widths up to 200mm.
- Height adjustable chisel head: Supports timber heights up to 255mm.
- Repetition features: Longitudinal stops, a marking-out rail with turnover stop, and a two-position depth stop for haunching.
Safety Features
The switchgear includes no-volt release, thermal overload protection, and a mushroom-headed emergency stop button for enhanced operator safety.
